Virtual Volunteer Orientation Step-by-Step Checklist

Welcome! Follow these steps to complete your onboarding and become an active volunteer.

Step 1: Age Verification & Account Setup

☐ Complete the Age Verification form
☐ Create your LearnDash account
☐ You will be redirected to the Home Page after registration

Step 2: Complete the 6 Steps on the Home Page

Please complete all six sections.

1. Meet the Team
☐ Watch the staff introduction video

2. Volunteer Manual
☐ Read through the manual
☐ Save a copy for future reference
☐ You may use it while taking quizzes

3. Tour the Space
☐ Watch the virtual tour video to familiarize yourself with the center

4. Orientation & Quizzes (Main Course) You may complete this all at once (55 minutes total) or in sections (videos range from 4–17 minutes).

Complete all 7 sections:
☐ History of Time Out Youth
☐ Agency Services
☐ Gender Diversity
☐ Guiding Principles
☐ Front Desk
☐ Programs
☐ Center Policies & Staff Support

After finishing:
☐ Download your Completion Certificate
(You will need to upload this later.)

5. Volunteer Guides

☐ Review the reference guides for:

    • Tabling
    • Front Desk
    • Drop-In Support

These are ongoing resources you can return to anytime.

6. Completion Form & Bloomerang Registration

☐ Complete the Completion Form
☐ Upload your Orientation Certificate

From the Completion form:

☐ Click the Bloomerang link in the form (open in a different tab)
☐ Select “Sign Up for This Organization”
☐ Complete your volunteer profile
☐ Enter your availability
Tip: Entering broad or open availability will allow you to see more shift options.

Step 3: Background Check & Final Access

☐ Within a few days, you’ll receive an email from Verified First to complete your background check
☐ Complete the background check promptly

After your background check is cleared, you will receive:

  • The Bloomerang Shift Sign-Up Link
  • The Volunteer Discord invite

Use Discord to stay updated on:

• Events
• Schedule updates
• Open shifts

Once you’ve received your shift link and signed up, you’re fully onboarded.
